Audience theory 2: blog tasks

1) Social learning theory has been criticised for simplifying the causes of violence in society. Do you think the media is responsible for anti-social behaviour and violence? I think media could have an influence on people as they could admire what they do. They could also see people on social media as role models as they don't have that type of influence in their real lives. However, i also think that social media does not completely influence people as it is their own choice and actions with what they do.   2) How is social learning theory relevant in the digital age? Are young people now learning behaviour from social media and the internet? Give examples.     1) Read this  Mail Online article about the effects of videogames . How does this article link to the hypodermic needle model? This links to the hypodermic  needle model as they are trying to say that video games influences the way people act. In this case, violent video games influence people to cause trouble and do violent things as shooting and fighting may not have a good effect on people and may make them want to commit the same type of violence.  2) How does coverage of the Talk Talk hacking case (see Daily Mail front page below) link to the hypodermic needle model? Why might someone  criticise  this front page?    They are trying to argue that the violent video games that the child plays influenced his actions.
